“Trees in Living Waters” was inspired by an engagement with the Hebrew Letter Mem. Moreover, it is a piece of intuitive art. That is a spiritual connected art process that allows the art to lead the way.
I started this painting with a detailed sketch, see attached insert of a neuron tree, which is subtly visible in the finished work. The trees and water emerged through the layers of wax.
The final sense I had at completion was “fluid waters surrounding all chaos” to renew the neurons of the brain. It is an encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, on a Birchwood panel. I used the flame from a torch to fuse the Beeswax and Damar crystals. The final layer included a shellac burn.
