Description
“The Ocean’s Electric Breath” is available as a limited-edition fine art print. You can also email me if you would like to buy the original encaustic painting.
This artwork shows a moment when the sea and sky meet in a burst of energy. I chose encaustic because melted beeswax, built up in layers, gives the surface a soft glow and rich texture. It adds a sense of age, as if the painting was shaped by nature itself.
Rusted metal pieces are set into the wax to form the rocks. Their colour and texture echo the slow changes of the coastline. They remind us of erosion, weathering, and the steady rhythm of the ocean.
Lightning cuts through the stormy sky and lights up the moving water below. Mist and rain hide the horizon. In this storm, the line between sky and sea almost disappears. The air feels alive, like a breath moving across the deep.
Every layer of wax, pigment, and rust suggests a memory. The sea holds stories of storms, shipwrecks, long journeys, and paths not taken. “The Ocean’s Electric Breath” reflects that ancient memory, reminding us how powerful and alive the ocean has always been.
